The pool is open all year (for members and their registered guests only). Lifeguards are not on duty until Memorial Day weekend, so please consult the Rules for details on age restrictions for swimmers. Essentially, no one under the age of 18 is allowed in the Club at any time without an adult accompanying them. Swimming is at your own risk. Swim Club membership includes access to the main pool with diving board, baby pool, fitness center, and lighted tennis courts with backboard.
Swim Team, Swim Lessons & Stroke Clinic
Swim Team practices start mid-May. Practices are in the afternoons until school is out, after which you will have the options to attend morning practice, evening practice, or both.
We are a member of the Greater New Orleans Country Club Swim League. www.gnoccsl.org
The tentative league schedule: First meet will be on May 31, with weekly meets thereafter on Wednesdays in June, ending with Divisional and City meets on June 27 and 29.
Swim Lessons are available (with an extra charge) for all members, their children, and grandchildren.
Swim Team fee is $105.00 for the 1st child under age 15. For each additional child under 15, the fee is $85.00. Swimmers 15 and over (as of June 1st) will pay a fee of only $55.00. By league rules, only club members may swim on the swim team.
To register, please submit the Swim Team Registration form and your payment c/o 4 Grand Canyon Drive, NOLA 70131.
Aquarobics (Water aerobics) begin as soon as it gets warm enough, usually mid-to-late May. Aquarobics are free for Club members. This year, we are opening up Aquarobics to non-members at a cost of $15/session (one hour each) or $150 for 12 or more sessions in 2017.
Aquarobics are as easy or as hard as you want to make it, depending on your fitness level. Many people with disabilities find it easier to exercise in the water, as do those who have fallen out of shape. But even the fittest person can get a good workout in an hour.
Sessions are scheduled by agreement among the participants, but have historically been on Saturday mornings at 8:00, some Monday mornings at 6:00, and some Tuesday evenings at 7:00.
Pool & Patio Rules
GATE MUST BE CLOSED AT ALL TIMES!!!
Swim at your own risk when lifeguard is not on duty.
No one under age 18 is allowed in pool without lifeguard on duty unless accompanied by a parent/guardian. When lifeguards are on duty, the first ten minutes of every hour will be lifeguard break – adult swim only, unless the parent is physically in the water with the child and attending to that child (not swimming laps).
Whether lifeguard is on duty or not, no one under age 11 is allowed on premises without adult supervision (or sitter over 15 years old). Lifeguard on duty is not considered adult supervision or sitter. When lifeguard is on duty, unaccompanied children age 11-14 must pass swim test (see lifeguard). Parents who violate these rules will be called to pick up their children immediately.
From Mid-May to Mid-August, swim parties are available only to members and their guests, with the exception that anyone can rent the pool for a private party on Monday nights from 6-9. These 3-hour private, Monday night parties cost $700 for up to 100 people. (Swim Club Members Discount price is $350.)
From Mid August, 2017 through May 31, 2018, non-private parties are available almost every day to both members and non-members, but members receive priority over non-members, and members also receive 50% off the regular price of $100/hr.plus tax for up to 25 guests and $140/hr. plus tax for up to 40 guests. Note that the Fitness Center is not included in the party and remains open to members even for during private parties.
